Based on any comments & suggestions from our past clients who visited Mt. Bromo from Yogyakarta by a private car (overland trip) then They said that it was too long and tired trip as Yogyakarta to Mt. Bromo will take about 10-12 hours by a private car. Here is the more comfortable, fastest and cheapest tour program from Yogyakarta to Mt. Bromo then to Surabaya (by airplane as suggested bellow):

Tour Itinerary:
Day 01: Yogyakarta to Surabaya - Mount Bromo Hotel
Pick you up from your hotel in Yogyakarta then meet our local staff and then escort you to the Yogyakarta airport to catch a flight leaving for Surabaya airport in East Java. You can choose to fly from Yogyakarta to Surabaya by LION AIR in the morning or at late noon and upon arrival in Surabaya airport our staff will meet you then escort and continue to drive directly to the Mount Bromo by a private car including stop at Local restaurant for having lunch. Upon your arrival in Mount Bromo, you will stay at Cemara Indah or Lava View Lodge or similar hotel where located on the rim of the Mt. Tengger crater with a superb view of Mt.Bromo, Mt. Batok and Mt. Kursi. (L,D)

Day 02: Bromo Hotel - Bromo Sunrise Tours - Mt Bromo Climbing– Surabaya
At 04:00am, The 4WD (JEEP) will take us to Mount Pananjakan where we'll go to the best location to enjoy the sunrise. Mount Pananjakan is one of the best place in the edge of the Tengger caldera to enjoy best sunrise time. Afterward, the jeep will take us down to the slopes of Mount Bromo by crossing the ocean of sand and then you will climb the slopes of Mount Bromo by following the stairs up leading to the peak of Mount Bromo. Around at 08: 00am, the jeep will bring you back to the hotel for having breakfast, shower, loading bags to the car and then you will be escorted back to Surabaya. We will leave Mount Bromo around 10:00am and will take about 3-4hours. / Depending on the traffic situation. (B)

Day 01: Malang or Surabaya to Mount Bromo

Day 02: Mt. Bromo Hotel - Mount Bromo Tours - Kalibaru Highland
At 4 am the 4WD will bring you to the world's most famous view point at Mount pananjakan on the rim of the Tengger caldera to see sunrise with its young volcanic including Mount Bromo and an active Mount Semeru in the back ground is breathtaking the play light shadow with sunrise reach Mountain succession from the top to the bottom and the usual fog of the caldera. Afterward the adventure be continued to an active Mount Bromo volcano by horse riding. About at 08:00, the 4 WD will bring you back to the hotel for breakfast, take shower, packing, loading bags, to the vehicle then transfer out to Kalibaru highland for about 4-5hours by passing small town, villages and plantations. Upon arrival in Kalibaru Highland, you will stay at Margo Utomo Cottages or similar with any kind plantations surrounding and nice hill view. (B)

Day 03: Kalibaru Hotel - Local Market - Banyuwangi
After having breakfast at your hotel, our staff will escort you to the local market to see daily activities of the people do transactions in local market. Afterward, we will escort you back to your hotel to load your bags to the vehicle (check out process) then continue our trip to Banyuwangi for about 1,5-2hours. You may stop on the way when you are passing interesting objects, such as: small town, villages & rice field. Upon arrival in Banyuwangi area, you will stay at Ketapang Indah Hotel or Watudodol Cottages where located on the beach nearby or similar hotel. (B)

Day 04: Banyuwangi Hotel - Ijen Crater Tours – Bali
Around at 05:00 in the morning, our 4WD vehicle (jeep) will bring us to the village of Licin and then continue to the slope of Mount Ijen, passing through plantations and rainforest. This is one of the few remaining on the Island of Java with giant ferns, plants & big trees. This journey takes approximately 1 hour from the hotel by private car to reach slope of Mt Ijen (Parking area of vehicles). Arrive at the parking area of Mount Ijen, approximately 1 until 1.5 hours will be required to ascend slope of mount Ijen to reach peak of Ijen Crater and along the path, you will enjoy the stunning natural scenery with fresh air & shady. Resting on the edge of the crater at an altitude of 2883 meters and enjoy best panorama of the lake of sulphate where reflects spectacular view in the surrounding walls to give the impression like unforgettable thing. The sulfur mining workers go down into the crater and climb back up by passing dangerous path on the edge of Ijen Crater with the load as much as 80 -100 kilograms on their shoulders. In this place, you will have rare experience to see  sulfat miner workers with a dangerous & hard job. Here also, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery in the crater of Ijen as one of God's amazing creation. Do not forget to take pictures in this area as a proof that you have visited one of the most amazing places on earth. After enjoyed the natural scenery at Crater of Ijen and then you will descend the slope of Mount Ijen until vehicles parking area where our vehicle is waiting to escort you back to the City of Banyuwangi with stop for awhile to visit plantations (cloves, cocoa), then continue our trip to take you out directly to Ferry Port in Ketapang (most eastern tip of Java Island) to cross Bali strait by ferry for about 1hour to reach Port of Gilimanuk in the most western tip of Bali Island. Upon arrival in Gilimanuk port, We will continue to drive to Kuta or Sanur or Ubud area for about 3-4hours and your trip has finished. (B)
